Samsung Galaxy S25 users are concerned about the delayed One UI 8.5 update and missing S26 features.
Citing Shiftdelete, the editorial office reports that Samsung's new flagship Galaxy S26 series was introduced with the One UI 8.5 interface. This new version offers users various animation improvements and enhanced artificial intelligence features. However, Galaxy S25 users have been eagerly awaiting these features since their devices were released, and this wait is getting longer every day.
The One UI 8.5 beta process for the Galaxy S25 began in early December. Since then, a total of 8 different beta versions have been released, incorporating system improvements and optimizations. Nevertheless, some important features for the Galaxy S26 series are still missing from these beta versions. The most notable among these is the call filtering feature. Although Samsung initially cited incompatibility, it later announced that this feature would be added in a future update following increasing complaints.
Samsung, which generally prioritizes South Korea in software distribution, is facing serious backlash in its community forums. S25 owners believe the company treats them as second-class citizens and claim it is not prioritizing fulfilling its promise of seven years of operating system updates. Users are highly dissatisfied that their devices, which they bought at the same price as new phones, are being left behind within a year.
Criticism on forum platforms strongly suggests that the release of each new model forces existing users to buy new devices. Consumers note that despite paying a high price for a flagship device, the promised 7-year update support fails in practice. The fact that an update, which could have been quickly released in March, has still not been provided, has led to widespread discussions in the tech world.
