Users can now use Shazam to identify songs directly within ChatGPT without leaving the platform. This new feature further simplifies music discovery.
Redaksiya reports that following the integration of Apple Music into ChatGPT a few months ago, Shazam, also owned by Apple, has now been made available as an app for ChatGPT. This allows users to identify music with simple queries like "Shazam, what's playing?" or "Shazam, what song is this?". Most importantly, there is no need to install the Shazam app on your device to use this functionality.
The setup process is quite straightforward. Users can visit https://chatgpt.com/apps/, search for Shazam, and connect their accounts. Once this step is completed, users can start their queries with the word "Shazam" (or by typing /Shazam to activate the app) and experience the familiar interface that Shazam users are accustomed to. Shazam will identify the song and present a card with information about the artist, song title, album cover, and how many times the user has identified this song.
It is possible to listen to the result, save it to your Shazam library (if the Shazam app is installed), or play it directly on Apple Music. Alternatively, users can continue the conversation with ChatGPT and request the creation of an Apple Music playlist based on the obtained result. The Shazam app is rolling out globally and is available on the iOS, Android, and web versions of ChatGPT.
