The European Parliament is convening an emergency session after the annulment of Donald Trump's tariffs.
Redaksiya reports that the European Parliament is holding an emergency session following the decision by the Supreme Court to annul Donald Trump's global tariffs on the trade agreement with the US. This was reported by the 'Bloomberg' agency.
It is noted that the session is scheduled for Monday. Earlier, the European Parliament's trade committee was expected to vote on Tuesday to continue the ratification process of the US-EU trade agreement. However, following the US Supreme Court's decision, committee chairman Bernd Lange wrote on social media that "we must now carefully assess this decision" and "analyze the possible consequences for ongoing work" on the ratification of the document.
"The Supreme Court's decision was expected. The legal basis for unjustified tariffs was flawed," Bernd told 'Bloomberg'. It is noted that the European Parliament planned to ratify the trade agreement with the US in March. Today's court decision has called into question both this deadline and the agreement itself, "given the uncertain legal status of Trump's tariffs."
According to 'EADaily', the US Supreme Court has annulled most of the global tariffs imposed by Donald Trump. This was reported by 'The Washington Post'.
