Users in the United Kingdom will now be required to verify their age when using Apple products. This requirement has come into effect with the implementation of iOS 26.4. According to information posted on Apple's official website, users must confirm they are over 18 years old to use certain services, features, or perform specific operations on their accounts.
Redaksiya reports that UK users can scan their ID cards or use a credit card to verify their age. If the user already has an Apple account, the company can use the associated payment method to confirm they are over 18. Otherwise, Apple will automatically activate child safety protections. These protections include features that block content not intended for minors online and blur messages containing nudity.
The iOS 26.4 operating system was released on Tuesday. This update aims to ensure users' safer activity in the online environment. These measures implemented by the company are specifically aimed at reducing the risk of young users encountering harmful content.
