Deputies in Ukrainian Parliament Halt Session Due to Mass Poisoning

The session of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada held today had to be concluded due to mass poisoning among deputies from the Servant of the People party. Deputies were unable to come to their workplaces due to vomiting, diarrhea, and temperatures below 40°C.

Redaksiya reports, citing EADaily, that the situation was so widespread that the morning session in the Verkhovna Rada had to be adjourned, with no one left to put the agenda to a vote. This is the first time in the history of the parliament's IX convocation (since 2019) that a decision could not be made.

Initially, deputies attributed the poisoning to stale food from the canteen, but the most likely cause is the rotavirus infection currently spreading in Bukovel, Ukraine's largest ski resort. Local media are writing about this.

The exact number of cases is not known, but dozens of such incidents have been recorded within the "Servant of the People" party alone.
