Özay Şendir, editor-in-chief of Milliyet newspaper, stated that in the event of a possible war with Israel, Syria would become Turkey's front line.
The editorial office reports that Şendir emphasized that for this reason, Ankara is obliged to strengthen Damascus's air defense capabilities. He noted that even the deployment of S-400 systems to Syria, in agreement with Moscow, could come onto the agenda.
Şendir added that in this way, Syria can be strengthened in terms of defense, and Israel's military superiority in the region can be prevented.
