Mahindra has offered to buy back all 300 units of its limited-edition electric car, the "Batman BE 6 EV," at the same price as the initial payment. This decision is a result of customer dissatisfaction regarding the automaker's plan to increase the production of this special model, which was initially limited to 300 units. The company is attempting to appease customers with this move.
Redaksiya reports that the "Batman BE 6 EV" is the first production model dedicated to Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight" film. The car's design incorporates numerous "Batman"-themed details, including "Batman" stickers, a "BE 6 × The Dark Knight" rear badge, a Batman emblem projection, and welcome lights featuring the same emblem. Mahindra also utilized the "The Dark Knight Trilogy" Batman emblem on the car's interior.
The price of this limited-edition car was approximately $30,000 USD, considered quite reasonable for a special edition model. However, the company's decision to produce an additional 699 units, bringing the total to 999, led to dissatisfaction among the initial 300 buyers. These additional 699 cars sold out in just 135 seconds. The initial buyers claimed this move devalued their cars and demanded a return. In response, Mahindra announced a buyback program, giving customers the option to sell their cars back at full price.
