The application of taxes on payments received by foreign digital platforms is necessary.
This was stated by Member of Parliament Elchin Mirzabeyli during the discussion of the "On the State Budget for 2026" bill in its second reading at today's plenary session of the parliament.
The MP emphasized that millions of manats are leaving Azerbaijan through foreign digital platforms, and these platforms are generating income without paying taxes to the country. He stated that digital platform taxes are applied in countries around the world, and it is important for Azerbaijan to take steps in this direction as well.
E. Mirzabeyli also noted that tax exemptions are currently applied to some segments of the media sector, and it is advisable to extend the same approach to other media platforms. (bakivaxti)
