"Currently, the minimum wage in Azerbaijan is 400 manats, which is at the level of 37% of the average wage. In the international documents we have joined, the minimum wage is at least 60% of the average wage. If this were applied here, the minimum wage should be 655 manats."
Ölkə.az reports that Member of Parliament Əli Məsimli said this at today's session of the Milli Məclis. He stated that from this perspective, the issue of reviewing the minimum wage amount at least once a year is of multifaceted relevance:
"A significant portion of individuals working, especially in the regions, receive salaries around the minimum wage. Therefore, an increase in salaries should be considered."
