Stock levels for products like HomePod, HomePod mini, and Apple TV 4K are decreasing in Apple stores. This situation is usually considered a harbinger of upcoming updates, but this time, Apple is reportedly waiting for new Siri and other artificial intelligence improvements. Currently, new versions of Apple TV and HomePod mini have been ready since last year, but the company is linking the release of these products with artificial intelligence innovations.
According to Redaksiya, citing sources, as noted in Bloomberg's Mark Gurman's "Power On" newsletter, inventories of full-size HomePod, HomePod mini, and Apple TV set-top boxes are declining worldwide at Apple's retail locations. This shortage typically indicates that updated products will be introduced soon. However, Gurman also notes that new models of Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini could be released even before the introduction of the fully functional Apple Intelligence Siri. This suggests the possibility that "if new hardware arrives urgently, it means Apple is simply tired of waiting.".
It is also noted that the stock of the larger HomePod is decreasing, even though this product was updated more recently compared to the HomePod mini. While there are currently no rumors about a new model for the large HomePod, it is expected to be updated in the near future, aligning with the HomePod mini. The next version of Apple TV 4K is expected to be equipped with the A17 Pro chip, unlike the current A15 Bionic, to support Apple Intelligence. The HomePod mini will feature a newer chip than the current S5 to support Apple Intelligence capabilities and will also offer some new color options.
