White House officials announced that US President Donald Trump has no plans to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the near future.
Redaksiya reports that a White House official stated: “Currently, a meeting between President Trump and Putin is not planned. The meeting between US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov was quite productive, so there is no need for additional face-to-face talks.”
Officials added that the US keeps diplomatic channels open, but a new high-level meeting plan is not on the agenda. This statement comes against the backdrop of claims regarding a possible meeting between Trump and Putin in Budapest.
