Zelensky: Russian UAVs are deliberately directed into NATO airspace

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that fighter jets were scrambled today in connection with the detection of a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in Romanian airspace. According to him, the UAV entered Romanian territory approximately 10 kilometers deep and operated in the airspace of the NATO country for nearly 50 minutes.

The editorial office reports that Zelensky additionally emphasized that Poland also carried out a military intervention on the same day against the threat of Russian unmanned aerial vehicles. The head of state noted that Moscow is well aware of the flight routes and duration of UAVs in the air.

According to Zelensky, such incidents are neither accidental nor unauthorized actions by low-level military commanders. He declared that Russia is acting purposefully to escalate tension in the region.
