Trump's statement, "The airspace over and around Venezuela is completely closed," is considered a serious warning to airlines.
The Venezuelan government, however, stated that this U.S. move is a unilateral decision and announced that Washington has also halted the weekly migrant flights conducted as part of the repatriation of Venezuelans. President Nicolas Maduro noted that this decision creates humanitarian and logistical difficulties for the country.
