The government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela has announced its strong condemnation of alleged military attacks carried out by the United States on the country's territory. An official statement claimed that civilian and military facilities in the city of Caracas and the states of Miranda, Aragua, and La Guaira were targeted, emphasizing that these actions seriously endanger the lives of the country's population.
The editorial, citing sources, reports that the Venezuelan government has assessed these military operations as a gross violation of the United Nations Charter's provisions on respect for sovereignty, legal equality of states, and the prohibition of the use of force. According to the official position, the attacks threaten regional and international peace, particularly stability in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The statement notes that the primary objective of the attacks is to seize Venezuela's strategic resources, especially oil and minerals, and to violently weaken the country's political independence. The government stated that these attempts would fail and declared the people and the legitimate government's determination to protect their sovereignty.
The Venezuelan leadership has called for the mobilization of all political and social forces, announcing the deployment of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces and security structures throughout the country. Simultaneously, it was stated that official complaints would be submitted to the UN Security Council and other international platforms.
President Nicolás Maduro signed a decree declaring a state of emergency regarding foreign threats within the country's territory and announced that all national defense plans have been activated. Official Caracas emphasized its right to legitimate defense in accordance with international law and called for global solidarity with Venezuela.
