President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen's plane was forced to make an emergency landing at Plovdiv Airport in Bulgaria. Bloomberg writes that the incident was caused by a disruption of the GPS signal, and Bulgarian officials do not rule out Russia's involvement in the matter. It is noted that the malfunction affected the navigation systems of both the aircraft and the airport.

The editorial office reports that Financial Times sources stated the plane circled the airport for about an hour, after which the pilot decided to land the aircraft manually using paper maps. Ursula von der Leyen is currently visiting Eastern European countries to discuss the creation of defense infrastructure with local authorities.

Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov commented on the widespread claims. He emphasized that Russia is not responsible for the malfunction in the GPS system and called these accusations unfounded.
