The Ekol television channel, operating in Turkey, has concluded its broadcast life. After being on air for approximately a year and a half, the channel completely ceased its broadcasts as of December 22nd.
The editorial office reports that the decision to close the television channel was made against the backdrop of financial and structural problems experienced in recent months. According to the information, the channel's management stated that continuing broadcasts was not possible.
It is noted that approximately 300 employees were previously dismissed from Ekol television. Mass layoffs were considered one of the main indicators that the channel's operations would be halted.
The cessation of Ekol television's broadcasts has once again brought to the forefront the existing challenges and increasing competition in the Turkish media sector. Media experts do not rule out the possibility that such occurrences may continue in the future.
