The "Stargate" project, announced by US President Donald Trump in January and envisioning a $500 billion investment in artificial intelligence infrastructure, failed to achieve the expected progress. The project was initially presented as a massive initiative to be jointly implemented by technology giants such as "OpenAI", "SoftBank", "Oracle", and "MGX".
Redaksiya reports that over the past six months, the project has largely transformed into a structure primarily formed between "OpenAI" and "SoftBank". The main goal of the project was to ensure US leadership in the field of artificial intelligence and to compete with China in this area. However, delays in the project's implementation and changes in partners raise questions about its future. The withdrawal of companies like "Oracle" and "MGX" indicates problems with the project's financing and technical capabilities.
The primary objective of the "Stargate" project was to create the necessary infrastructure for the development of artificial intelligence. This included powerful computing servers, large-volume databases, and the improvement of artificial intelligence algorithms. The project's failure could negatively impact the US's competitiveness in the field of artificial intelligence. Simultaneously, this could create conditions for countries like China to advance further in this area.
Consequently, the future of the "Stargate" project remains uncertain. Whether the project will be successful will depend on the joint efforts of "OpenAI" and "SoftBank", as well as the involvement of new partners in the project.
