US President Donald Trump called this day “very successful” and announced that he would strive for a trilateral meeting between Russia, the US, and Ukraine. He also emphasized that a possible land swap should be discussed.

The editorial office reports that Trump stated the Russian Federation agreed to accept security guarantees. Zelensky, on the other hand, noted that he had a “very good conversation” with the US president and that security guarantees were one of the main topics of discussion.

In his speech, Trump said that the summit in Alaska convinced him of the possibility of achieving peace in Ukraine. He also declared that he did not believe in the possibility of “larger-scale aggression” by Russia.

Zelensky, in his statement to the press, said that territorial issues would be discussed at a trilateral meeting of the leaders of Russia, the US, and Ukraine. According to him, sensitive issues were also a focus during the talks with Trump.

European Union Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that the EU would work on security guarantees similar to NATO's Article Five.

French President Emmanuel Macron proposed discussing the resolution of the Ukrainian conflict in a quadrilateral format with the participation of Europe. He emphasized the necessity of a ceasefire before a trilateral meeting.

Trump added that within one or two weeks, the prospects for resolving the conflict in Ukraine through negotiations would become clearer. According to him, there are no very complex issues, but it is also possible that no result will be achieved.

German Chancellor Mers, in her conversation with Trump, expressed hope that a ceasefire would be achieved before the next meeting.

The open part of the meeting between Trump and Zelensky, held with the participation of European Union leaders, lasted approximately 28 minutes.
