US President Donald Trump sharply criticized India's relations with Russia in the energy sector.
The editorial office reports that, according to Trump, India not only buys large volumes of Russian oil but also resells a significant portion of that oil on the international market, making substantial profits. “They don't care how many people are being killed by the Russian military machine in Ukraine,” – the US President stated.
Calling this situation unfair, Trump announced that he would significantly increase the customs tariffs applied to India by the US. According to him, this step aims to protect Washington's economic interests and principled international stance.
The statement is regarded as a sign that the Trump administration will enter a new era in trade and security relations with India. At the same time, this announcement indicates Washington's readiness to take a tougher stance against indirect energy cooperation with Moscow.
