A comprehensive analysis on the future of Trump's Gaza peace plan has been published in the US-based publication “The American Conservative”. The article notes that while negotiations continue on Trump's plan to end the war in Gaza, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is reportedly already beginning to undermine the process even before the plan is officially announced.
The editorial office reports that, according to the publication, Netanyahu's steps to change the plan have created dissatisfaction in the US and Arab countries. Axios journalist Barak Ravid writes that the document presented to Hamas is already significantly different from the initially agreed-upon version. Netanyahu has linked the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza to progress in the disarmament of Hamas and has given Israel veto power over this process.

The article notes that these changes could extend Israel's withdrawal from the region indefinitely. Moreover, Netanyahu has declared that an independent Palestinian state is not possible, despite the document's clause on Palestinian “self-determination”.
“The American Conservative” recalls that Netanyahu had previously undermined two US-brokered peace processes. The publication writes that Netanyahu is currently caught between voters and his far-right coalition partners. Ministers in this group – including Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich – oppose any peace agreement and and are trying to sabotage it.

Israeli politician Mtanes Shehadeh stated that if the government accepts the plan, the parties of Ben-Gvir and Smotrich will withdraw from the coalition, which could lead to early elections in the country.
According to experts, the pressure exerted by Trump on Netanyahu to accept the plan could yield results. However, if the US does not continue its pressure, Netanyahu will find new ways to undermine the peace process.
