British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has sharply criticized the United States' intention to impose tariffs on other countries opposing its plan to acquire Britain and Greenland, calling the approach misguided.
According to Starmer, US President Donald Trump's aforementioned plan harms international relations and increases tensions among allies.
In his speech, the Prime Minister also touched upon the issue of possible retaliatory measures by Britain, stating that the imposition of retaliatory tariffs is practically out of the question. He emphasized that a trade war is not in the interests of any party and could negatively affect global economic stability.
Starmer added that London favors resolving issues through dialogue and diplomatic channels and considers it important to continue cooperation to protect the international trading system.
