British Prime Minister Keir Starmer told the BBC that decisions regarding Greenland's future must be made solely by Greenland and Denmark, stressing that external interference in this matter is unacceptable.

The editorial reports that the statement was made after US President Donald Trump said Greenland was needed for national security, a declaration that has resonated widely on the international stage.

In response to the latest remarks from the US side, Greenland's Prime Minister Jens Frederik Nielsen said enough was enough and called the idea of the island coming under US control a fantasy.

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen stated that the US has no right to annex any of the three countries that are part of the Kingdom of Denmark, and this position remains unchanged.

It was noted that US President Donald Trump and high-ranking members of his administration have repeatedly raised the possibility of annexing Greenland, a self-governing Danish territory.
