The "Nord" superyacht, linked to Russian billionaire Alexey Mordashov, has passed through the Strait of Hormuz. According to "The Jerusalem Post," citing Reuters, this occurred amidst the US blockade against Iran and a sharp decrease in vessel traffic in the region.

The editorial office reports, citing the information, that at least 7 vessels passed through the Strait of Hormuz in the last 24 hours. This figure is significantly lower compared to the approximately 140 daily transits recorded before the Iran war. The vessels were mainly dry cargo commercial ships; some of them departed from Iraqi ports, and one from an Iranian port.

The US Central Command stated that since the blockade against Iran was imposed on April 13, the routes of 37 vessels have been altered. Additionally, according to satellite data, 6 Iranian tankers that returned to Iranian ports in recent days and passed through Hormuz again carried approximately 10.5 million barrels of oil.

The 142-meter superyacht named "Nord" departed from a marina in Dubai on Friday, passed through the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday morning, and reached Muscat, the capital of Oman, on Sunday morning. It is not yet known how the yacht obtained permission to use the route.

Valued at over $500 million, the "Nord" is considered one of the world's largest superyachts. The vessel reportedly features 20 cabins, a swimming pool, a helicopter pad, and a submarine. Mordashov is among the oligarchs sanctioned by the US and the European Union following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
