The European Union's (EU) imposition of new sanctions against Russia was met with a harsh reaction from Moscow. In a statement issued by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was emphasized that this step is "illegal" and "hostile" in nature.

Redaksiya reports that Russia's response to this move was not delayed. The Russian side has significantly expanded its sanctions list, which includes representatives of European institutions, EU member states, and some European countries that align with the European Union's policy against Russia. Individuals on this list are prohibited from entering Russia.

The statement noted that employees of law enforcement agencies, state and commercial organizations, as well as citizens of EU member states and some Western countries, have been included in the list. It was stated that these individuals participated in actions against Russia and supported Ukraine. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs recalled that the European Union approved its 19th package of sanctions against Russia on October 23. Information regarding the number of individuals included in the sanctions list was not provided.
