Turkey's renowned open water swimmer Bengisu Avcı has come into the spotlight with her new goal. She is entering the final stage to complete the “Oceans Seven” series, considered one of the most prestigious swimming marathons worldwide.

The editorial board reports that Avcı has made history with her achievements so far, both in Turkey and at a European level. She is known as:

  • the fastest Turkish swimmer to cross the Strait of Gibraltar,
  • the fastest European woman to cross the Molokai Channel,
  • the fastest Turkish woman to cross the North Channel and the English Channel.

Avcı, whose every crossing is a record in itself, is now preparing for a new challenge to solidify her name globally by completing the Oceans Seven series and to draw attention to climate change.

It should be noted that "Oceans Seven" is a prestigious marathon in the field of swimming, considered the "Everest" of open water swimming, encompassing 7 challenging straits and open water crossings around the world. Very few swimmers have managed to complete this series.

Bengisu Avcı inspires millions by carrying out a symbolic mission in both sports and environmental fields.

We also wish her success and first place on this long journey with our sincerest wishes!
