Information has spread that the capital Pyongyang sent 5000 military builders to Russia since the beginning of autumn to help with "infrastructure restoration". This was stated by South Korean parliament member Lee Song-kwon after a briefing held by the country's National Intelligence Service (NIS).

Redaksiya reports that, according to Lee Song-kwon, Pyongyang's move is part of deepening military cooperation between North Korea and Russia. According to the information, the dispatched workers will mainly be employed in the construction sector. This step indicates North Korea's continued support for Russia.

The South Korean parliament member emphasized that the information obtained during the NIS briefing confirms previous claims regarding North Korea's military support to Russia. This support includes the dispatch of manpower, in addition to military technology and ammunition supplies. Such cooperation aims to increase North Korea's economic and military capabilities despite international sanctions.

According to NIS information, the number of dispatched workers and their activities in Russia indicate the scale of North Korea's support to Russia. This also demonstrates North Korea's resilience against international pressure and Russia's support for the country. Such cooperation could further escalate the security situation in the region.
