Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed his stance on the Peace Council initiative and the issue of Greenland, which are being discussed on the international agenda. He stated that Russia's approach to these processes is pragmatic and based on its interests.
The editorial reports that Vladimir Putin announced he received an invitation from US President Donald Trump to join the Peace Council and declared Russia's readiness to contribute $1 billion to this initiative from frozen Russian assets.
The Russian president also commented on the issue between Greenland and the US, stating that this matter does not concern Russia and Moscow is not a party to that process. According to him, the issue should be evaluated within the framework of the internal relations of the region's countries.
Putin added that Denmark has pursued an unjust and oppressive policy towards Greenland for many years. He emphasized that this approach has caused social and political discontent in the region and noted the importance of more comprehensive consideration of the interests of the Greenlandic population.
