Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, has sharply criticized the Trump administration's actions concerning Venezuela, stating that energy interests are behind the process.
According to sources, Medvedev said that the Trump team acts tough and pragmatically in advancing its country's interests, openly admitting that the removal of Nicolás Maduro from power is not related to the fight against drugs, but solely to the oil factor. He emphasized that the factor of power in international relations is prioritized over ordinary principles of justice, noting that this approach is based more on political advantage than legal grounds.
Medvedev added that it is a serious question whether Venezuela can be managed remotely, and the long-term consequences of this model remain uncertain.
