Information disseminated by APA Information Agency regarding an investigation conducted by the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Ganja City Executive Power was not confirmed by official sources and was based on false information.
This was stated in the announcement of the Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
"We consider the dissemination of such information in the media, which is prohibited by law and results in undermining the reputation of state bodies, unacceptable.
We declare that, according to Article 14.1.11-1 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan 'On Media', the publication (dissemination) of false information should not be allowed.
We call on media entities and social network users to be responsible when disseminating information and to refer to official sources," the Agency noted in its statement.
