Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has declared that his country will defend itself against US “aggression.” He described the buildup of US naval forces in the Caribbean and last week's deadly attack on one of Venezuela's boats as provocations against his country.
The editorial office reports that Maduro emphasized Caracas's “right to legitimate self-defense.” He harshly criticized US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, calling him a “lord of death and war.”
The head of state stated that the Venezuelan people will under no circumstances renounce their independence and territorial integrity, and the country's sovereignty will be protected to the very end.
