A commission has been established in connection with ensuring the security of critical information infrastructure.
The editorial office reports that the State Security Service (SSS) and the State Service for Special Communication and Information Security (SSSCIS) issued a joint statement on this matter.
It was stated that, in accordance with the requirements of relevant normative legal acts, a joint commission consisting of relevant employees of the SSS and SSSCIS has been established for the systematic, timely, and continuous organization of checking the compliance of state bodies with general and special rules regarding the security of critical information infrastructure.
According to the information, considering the threats to state and public security that may arise from deficiencies identified by the Commission, an assessment will be carried out of the measures to be taken by critical information infrastructure entities to eliminate them.
The Commission will also prepare periodic reports and information on the results of the work carried out, and when circumstances that may lead to a breach of the security of critical information infrastructure objects are identified, the issue of taking urgent measures will be raised.
It should be recalled that, according to Decree No. 1315 of the President of Azerbaijan dated April 17, 2021, the functions of the authorized body in the field of ensuring the security of critical information infrastructure, including combating cyber threats, are carried out by the SSS, and with respect to state bodies, public legal entities established on behalf of the state, and legal entities owned by the state, the SSS carries out these functions jointly with the SSSCIS.
