“Naturally, our Armed Forces are guarding the interests and security of our state every moment, every day. We monitor, see, and will continue to see potential sources of threat. We are increasing our military power. After the Second Karabakh War, in connection with the development of both our forces in the Caspian Sea and all our other armed forces, we have increased the number of our special forces by thousands – I don't want to state the exact number, but a large number – and new commando forces have been created.”
President Ilham Aliyev voiced these thoughts during a meeting with residents of Kalbajar city.
“The most modern unmanned aerial vehicles and new artillery systems have been brought to our country. Now, contracts for new combat aircraft have been signed, and existing aircraft have been fully modernized. We must be ready for war at any moment. Because processes in the world are moving in such a direction that one cannot know what will happen tomorrow. The guarantor of our security is ourselves – the state, the people, and our Armed Forces. Therefore, if someone's sick mind thinks of committing any provocation against Azerbaijan, I believe they will regret it again. We, however, will continue to live as a victorious nation and a victorious, triumphant state,” the head of state noted.
