Israel's refusal to agree to a ceasefire in Gaza has increased pressure from the international community. The Canadian government has openly stated that if Tel Aviv insists on this position, the country will take the necessary diplomatic steps to recognize the Palestinian state.

The editorial office reports that this information was disseminated by Al Jazeera. It was stated that official Ottawa has declared its readiness to recognize an independent Palestinian state if Israel fails to fulfill its humanitarian obligations. This decision aligns with the positions of other Western countries, particularly the United Kingdom and France.

On the other hand, the AFP news agency writes that Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and other Arab states have signed a joint statement demanding that Hamas lay down its arms and cease its political authority in the region to establish peace in Gaza.

The document emphasizes that for the establishment of Palestinian statehood, Hamas must hand over its weapons to the Palestinian Authority, and the restoration of internal unity and the formation of a unified governance structure must be ensured.

Experts believe that this step indicates increased political pressure on both Hamas and Israel. Both Western and Arab countries are striving to adopt a unified stance for lasting peace in Gaza.
