Former US Vice President and presidential candidate Kamala Harris has announced her position on the events unfolding in Venezuela. In a statement shared on the social media platform X, she sharply criticized the steps taken by the US administration.

According to her, the illegitimate and harsh governance of Nicolás Maduro does not change the fact that these steps are illegal and ill-conceived.
Harris noted that regime change or wars for oil have previously been presented under the guise of a "show of force," but ultimately led to chaos, the cost of which was borne by American families. She emphasized that American society is tired of such policies and does not want to be deceived.
The statement indicated that the issue is neither about fighting drugs nor about democracy; the main goal is energy interests and a demonstration of regional power. Kamala Harris added that this approach increases military risks, leads to billions of dollars in spending, disrupts stability in the region, and provides no real benefit to citizens domestically.
She stated that the main priorities for the US are reducing family expenses, upholding the rule of law, strengthening relations with allies, and prioritizing the interests of the American people.
