China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Guo Jiakun stated that they strongly oppose the US targeting the normal relations that exist between Central American countries and China. According to him, the steps taken by Washington in this direction are based on unfounded accusations and political manipulations.

The editorial reports that Guo Jiakun emphasized that the claims of "Chinese pressure" made after visits to Panama and other countries in the region are completely false. He noted that such statements are merely a manifestation of a Cold War-era mindset and do not align with current international realities.

The ministry official stated that cooperation between China and Central American countries is based on the principles of mutual respect and equality. According to him, these relations are not directed against any third parties and contribute to regional stability.

Guo Jiakun called on the US to put an end to manipulative approaches in matters concerning China and to respect the sovereign choices of other countries. He emphasized that such behavior undermines trust in international relations and deepens confrontation.
