Head of State Ilham Aliyev, in his interview with local television channels, expressed ideas that articulated Azerbaijan's position at regional and international levels and the essence of its successful policy in this direction.
The interview given by the head of state, Ilham Aliyev, to local television channels in recent days once again clearly outlined the main directions of state policy. One of the notable points in the esteemed President's interview was the issue of national security. The ideas expressed articulated Azerbaijan's position at regional and international levels and the essence of its successful policy in this direction. The President's statement, 'We are not intending to risk the lives and health of our citizens for the sake of someone else's interests,' demonstrates that citizen safety is at the center of all state decisions. In this regard, we can definitively state that the steps our country has taken at the military, political, and diplomatic levels are based precisely on this principle and strictly exclude any adventurist approach outside of national interests. As is known, the processes occurring on the continent where we are located in recent years show that countries must seriously consider their security issues. The emergence of certain circles with vague initiatives, prioritizing their personal interests, requires countries to act more cautiously in mutual relations. The head of state unequivocally declared that Azerbaijan will never turn the lives of its citizens into a subject of geopolitical games. It is a fact that Azerbaijan has created new realities in the region after the Patriotic War, and these realities are shaping the region's security balance. As a victorious state, Azerbaijan possesses both military power and political will. President Ilham Aliyev's approach, stating that our country does not wish to wage war again, also confirms Azerbaijan's commitment to the peace agenda. The head of state has repeatedly emphasized that peace initiatives cannot be built on unilateral risks. If any proposal or mechanism poses a real risk to the safety of Azerbaijani citizens, such initiatives are unequivocally rejected. This is not only a humane approach but also the position of a strong and responsible state. This issue, touched upon by President Ilham Aliyev in his interview, was also a call to the international community. In our world, currently marked by wars and political turmoil, countries like Azerbaijan, committed to peace and open to mutual trust and integration, are true examples.
