From December 1-3, 2025, a delegation led by Inam Karimov, Chairman of the Supreme Court and the Judicial-Legal Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, paid an official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The visit, held at the invitation of the Supreme People's Court of Vietnam, included a meeting with Nguyen Van Quang, Chairman of the Supreme People's Court of Vietnam. Expressing his pleasure in receiving the guests, he conveyed his confidence that this visit would elevate cooperation between the courts of the two countries to a new level. Noting that the traditional friendly relations between Vietnam and Azerbaijan provide a solid foundation for future cooperation, Nguyen Van Quang provided information on recent reforms in the Vietnamese judicial system, court structuring, and the development of e-justice and human resources. He stated that studying the experience and knowledge of the Azerbaijani judicial system, particularly the Supreme Court, is of utmost importance for Vietnam.
In turn, Inam Karimov expressed his gratitude for the invitation and informed that the Azerbaijani side is ready to cooperate with Vietnam in improving judicial activities and digitizing courts. He also provided detailed information on the judicial-legal reforms, digitalization, and efforts to increase the efficiency of justice in Azerbaijan. During the meeting, ideas were exchanged on joint activities to further deepen cooperation in the judicial field between the two countries and to discuss new legal initiatives.
Within the framework of the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation also visited the People's Court of Hanoi City and the People's Court of Quang Ninh Province. The guests were provided with detailed information on the structure, operating principles, workload, and annual statistical indicators of the courts.
It should be noted that the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Vietnam, Shovqi Mehdizade, also participated in the meetings.
