US President Donald Trump has declared that rights to Venezuelan oil will be reclaimed, stating that US companies were previously expelled from the country and the goal is to reacquire these rights. According to him, Washington has no intention of backing down on this matter.

The editorial reports that US President Donald Trump has demanded the return of oil and other assets from Venezuela, otherwise emphasizing that the use of military force against the country is not ruled out. He announced that the largest US fleet has gathered near the Venezuelan coast and a full blockade has been declared against sanctioned tankers.

According to information, the Venezuelan authorities have dispatched naval escort forces to protect ships leaving the country. The US side, in turn, has announced its readiness to take measures against this escort.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, on the other hand, has announced that oil exports will continue and will be carried out "at any cost." The increasing tension between the parties is assessed as the main factor raising the probability of a possible military confrontation between the US and Venezuela.
