US Ambassador to Turkey and also Special Representative for Syria, Tom Barrack, has made a series of strong statements regarding the situation in the region.
The editorial office reports that Tom Barrack stated the US has no intention of creating an independent Kurdish state. He emphasized that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) must absolutely reach an agreement with the Damascus government: “If you do not agree, we will not be your permanent patron.”
The US Ambassador added that neither an “Independent Kurdistan” nor an “independent SDF state” will be created. This statement could seriously impact the political balances in the region and the expected negotiations between the parties.
