The US administration has called on European countries to impose new sanctions against India. According to information disseminated by Axios and India Today publications, citing diplomatic sources, these refer to restrictions similar to those implemented by the US, including a complete halt to oil and gas supplies from India.
It is reported that the Donald Trump administration also demanded that Europe impose additional tariffs on Indian goods. The US has already imposed an additional 25 percent customs duty on products imported from India, effective August 27. With this, the total tariff burden against India has reached 50 percent.
According to Axios, Washington also wants European countries to impose additional tariffs on goods imported from China.
