Recently, news has spread in the world press about Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado being ready to award the Nobel Peace Prize to US President Donald Trump. This event has brought the award and possible related issues to the agenda.

Redaksiya reports that in 2025, the Nobel Committee awarded this prize to Venezuelan opposition activist María Corina Machado. After Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro was detained in Caracas as a result of an operation carried out by the US, Machado stated that she was ready to award the Nobel Peace Prize to the US President.

It has been repeatedly written in the press about Donald Trump's desire to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. According to writer David Trads, the US President always seeks recognition. He also cited Trump's jealousy of Barack Obama, who received the Nobel Peace Prize, as one of the reasons.

US President Donald Trump is not against receiving the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to the Venezuelan opposition leader. María Corina Machado herself spoke about this after the operation that resulted in the arrest of Nicolás Maduro.

In his first year in office (second term), Trump repeatedly stated that he had stopped 8 wars, and his team emphasized that he deserved the Nobel Prize.

"Once the Nobel Prize is announced, it is impossible to cancel, divide, or give it to someone else. The decision is final and remains in effect forever," the statement said.

In a recent interview with Fox News, Trump stated that he had heard about Machado allegedly wanting to give him her prize. According to him, it would be "a great honor" for him.

"I understand she will be coming next week, and I look forward to meeting her," the US leader added.

However, according to The Washington Post, there is a nuance that the Norwegian Nobel Committee recalls.

A meeting between Trump and Machado is planned for next week.
