Xiaomi Changes T Series, Presentation Accelerates

Redaksiya · Media ·

Xiaomi is preparing to make a significant change to the presentation schedule of its popular T series. As you know, the Xiaomi 15T and 15T Pro, released last year, were presented in September. In fact, all of the brand's T series models have been coming out in September every year with a clockwork-like regularity for years. However, according to a new and strong leak from China, this tradition will be broken in 2026.

Redaksiya reports that according to claims, the company will release the new Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro models a full four months earlier than expected, meaning, most likely, around May. This step represents a major restructuring of the company's overall presentation schedule.

The technical details of these new devices are also gradually beginning to emerge. According to the latest information, the Xiaomi 17T model is being prepared with the model number "2602DPT53G". The Xiaomi 17T Pro, the high-end device in the series, will have the model number "2602EPTC0G". In addition, special codenames are being used for these devices in the development processes within the company. According to leaks, the 17T model is codenamed "Chagall", while the 17T Pro model, which carries flagship features, is codenamed "Warhol".

There are various claims from different sources regarding the processors that will power the devices. According to the source of the news, the standard 17T model will be powered by the Dimensity 8500 chip. The 17T Pro, the top model of the series, will come with the more powerful Dimensity 9500 processor. In addition, it is reported that the battery capacities of the new generation phones will be larger than what we saw in the 15T and 15T Pro models. On the camera side, it is stated that users should not expect huge innovations and that the updates will be more limited.

A different leak that emerged earlier presented some conflicting details about the device's hardware. According to this older leak, the 17T model will retain the exact same camera hardware as the 15T. However, the battery capacity will see a significant increase to 6500 mAh with 67W fast charging support. Interestingly, this previous claim suggested that the device would come with a Dimensity 9400 processor instead of the Dimensity 8500. These discrepancies between different sources indicate that it is still too early to speak definitively about the final specifications of the devices.
