Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov has revealed details of the phone conversation between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.
The editorial office reports that Ushakov stated the conversation lasted two and a half hours and was “very substantive, sincere, and trusting.” He noted that the main focus was on the Ukrainian crisis, with Putin assessing the situation and emphasizing Russia's interest in a political-diplomatic solution.
Trump repeatedly stressed the importance of quickly establishing peace in Ukraine. The issue of a possible supply of long-range “Tomahawk” missiles to Ukraine was also raised during the talks. Putin stated that these weapons would not change the situation but would deal a serious blow to relations. The parties agreed to begin preparations for a meeting in Budapest in the near future.
