Former MMA fighter and businessman Conor McGregor officially announced his candidacy for the Irish presidency today. Through his posts and speeches, he requested local council members to nominate him to participate in the election and appealed to the public, urging them to support him.

McGregor built his election campaign on a populist discourse. He accused the government of being helpless on issues such as child homelessness and illegal migration. At the same time, in the platform he presented, he promised to return power to the people and to approve laws only through a referendum.

To become an official candidate, Conor McGregor must be nominated by either 20 members of parliament or by four local councils. During his campaign, he appealed to the public to gather this support and also launched a petition campaign.

The election will be held on October 24, marking a sharp transition from the famous athlete's career to politics. Irish media and international sources present Conor McGregor's resurgence as a topic of discussion.
