An agreement worth 8 billion British Pounds (approximately 10.7 billion US dollars) has been signed between Turkey and the United Kingdom, which envisages the sale of 20 “Eurofighter Typhoon” combat aircraft.

The editorial office reports that the agreement was formalized in Ankara during a meeting between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. This sale is not only the first order for “Typhoon” aircraft since 2017 but is also considered Britain's largest military export operation in the last twenty years.

Keir Starmer, evaluating the agreement as a strategic step towards NATO solidarity, stated that this agreement sends a message of strength to both Europe and the alliance's southeastern flank. British Defence Secretary John Healey noted that the agreement reflects not only the sale of aircraft but also the deepening of the strategic partnership with Turkey. Turkish Minister of National Defence Yaşar Güler, in his statement, announced that the aircraft would be brought to the country early next year.
