The Turkish prosecutor's office has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and 36 other high-ranking officials. They are accused of personal responsibility for genocide and crimes against humanity in military operations carried out against civilians in Gaza.

The editorial office reports that, according to information released by the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office, the decision was made as a result of a criminal case opened within the framework of Turkey's universal jurisdiction laws. Within the scope of the investigation, it is alleged that a number of commanders and political figures, including Defense Minister Israel Katz and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, played a role in targeting civilians.

Since the officials are not currently in Turkey, the arrest warrants were issued in absentia. Legal experts state that this step could set a precedent for the initiation of international legal procedures in the future. Reports note that thousands of civilians have lost their lives and infrastructure has been extensively damaged in Gaza.
