The international community is discussing the stance of 14 countries, including Turkey, which have condemned statements by US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee suggesting that Israel establishing control over the entire Middle East would be "acceptable."

The editorial reports that the foreign ministers of Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Indonesia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Pakistan, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Palestine, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), along with the secretariats of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Arab League, and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), have issued a joint statement.

The statement declares that Huckabee's remarks, stating that "the region stretching from the Nile to the Euphrates belongs to Israel," constitute a clear violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, posing a serious threat to regional security and stability. It is also emphasized that these statements directly contradict the vision presented by US President Donald Trump and a comprehensive plan to halt Israel's attacks in Gaza. It is noted that this vision and plan are built on preventing an escalation of tensions and creating a political horizon for the Palestinian people to have an independent state.

The statement includes the remarks, "The ministers, emphasizing that the plan is based on principles of tolerance and peaceful coexistence, stated that statements aimed at legitimizing control over the lands of others undermine these goals, fuel tensions, and are more provocative than conducive to peace." Drawing attention to the fact that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territories or any other occupied Arab territories, they reiterated that they "firmly reject any attempts to annex the West Bank or separate it from the Gaza Strip, strongly oppose the expansion of settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories, and unequivocally reject any threat to the sovereignty of Arab states."

The statement expresses that the continuation of Israel's expansionist policies and illegal measures will further ignite violence and conflict in the region and damage hopes for peace. Their commitment to the right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state and self-determination based on the borders of June 4, 1967, is reiterated, and a call is made for an end to these provocative statements.
