US President Donald Trump's "patient" reaction to NATO forces downing drones in Polish airspace has caused serious concern in Europe. European diplomats stated that this raises questions about the US's commitment to defending its allies.

The editorial office, citing Reuters, reports that many alliance members question how prepared the Trump administration is to fulfill Article 5 of NATO regarding collective security. According to them, Trump's reaction deviates from the tradition established by US presidents since Franklin Roosevelt, indicating that he no longer considers European security fundamental for America.

According to the information, Poland announced on September 10 that it had destroyed several drones that entered its territory. Prime Minister Donald Tusk called these drones Russian-owned. Trump, however, in a speech a day after the incident, assessed the entry of the drones into Poland with the words "it could be a mistake" and stated that he was not satisfied with the situation.
