U.S. President Donald Trump has publicly disclosed the content of personal messages sent to him by French President Emmanuel Macron. The revealed correspondence indicates discussions between the two leaders regarding the Middle East, European security, and international diplomatic initiatives.

According to the editorial, Macron stated in a letter addressed to Trump that their positions on Syria were fully aligned and that great joint steps could be taken on Iran, but he expressed his lack of understanding regarding the actions taken concerning Greenland.

The message presented the French President's address to U.S. President Donald Trump as follows: “From president Macron to President Trump. My friend, We are totally in line on Syria. We can do great things on Iran. I do not understand what you are doing on Greenland. Let us try to build great things”.

Macron further presented specific diplomatic proposals in the letter, expressing them in a numbered format: 1) I can set up a G7 meeting after Davos in Paris on Thursday afternoon. I can invite the Ukrainians, the Danes, the Syrians, and the Russians in the margins. 2) Let us have a dinner together in Paris on Thursday before you go back to the U.S.
