US President Donald Trump, speaking in the Israeli parliament — the Knesset — stated that “a golden age for Israel and the Middle East has begun.” During his speech, Trump said about Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, “He’s not easy to work with, but that’s what makes him great.” (During Trump’s speech, MPs Ayman Odeh and Ofer Kassif, who raised protest placards, were removed from the hall by security personnel.)
The editorial office reports that during his speech, Trump spoke about the military support the US provides to Israel, saying, “We produce the most powerful weapons in the world, and Israel used them correctly — peace came through strength.” He emphasized that Hamas and Gaza would be disarmed, and also the possibility of achieving a peace agreement with Iran.
Trump stated that they “ended eight wars in eight months” and that “the Gaza war has also now ended.” The President concluded his speech with the words, “Israel, you won. People all over the world are dancing in the streets, this long and difficult war is over.”
